Accommodations
Remember this is a rustic, camp type setting.
Cabins
The cabins are comfortable, but not private. You will be sharing a dorm like cabin with new friends and you pick your bunk
when you arrive. If you are a light sleeper you may want to pack earplugs. You must also bring your own bedding. If you prefer,
you may bring your tent. Also, limited RV sites with water and electricity (no dump) are
available (you will need to indicate this on the Registration form).
Communal showers are available on site.
Food
All meals are provided by the camp. You will get three wonderful,
home cooked meals a day. Vegetarian meals are available but you must request them on your registration form. Please let us
know if you have any special dietary needs, so we can let our hosts know. If you get hungry during the day snacks are not
provided so you might want to pack some crackers.
Dress
This is a casual event. Dress as you would if you were camping
in May on the Oregon Coast, bring a jacket in case it is cool and damp as well as lighter clothes, it could be warmer and
sunny. Keep your eyes on the Camp Myrtlewood website as the date gets near to see the current weather conditions at the camp.
Other Things You Should Know
There are no children or pets allowed at this
event, this is not a venue for them.
Cell Phones do not seem to work very well at the camp, this can be a great thing to allow you to truly
get away from it all and focus on the craft that you love. There is a land line in the main office if you need to call out.
The camp has a strict No Alcohol rule. Please
be respectful of this.
Things to do
There is the nice little town of Myrtle Point nearby with shops and restaurants.
There are several nice hiking trails with varying
degrees of difficulty.
Registration
The camp opens on Friday at 4pm. The registration table will be set up and to sign you in. If
you choose to show up Saturday morning we ask that you make it by 9am so you don't miss any of your class.
Check out time is Monday at 4pm. We ask that before
you leave you check your cabin and make sure that it is a clean as when you arrived.
We will have vendors there so bring your shopping shoes.
